Strategically
situated in the little hamlet of Vrigny, on the outskirts of the village
of St. Georges-sur-Cher, just 4 km from the famous Chateau
de Chenonceau, la Roseraie
de Vrigny was originally a winegrower's stone-built farmhouse. Dating
from the early 19th century, the house and outbuildings have been lovingly
restored in recent years by the present owners.
The large enclosed romantic and shady garden, with its herbaceous borders,
formal potager, roses and fruit trees, bordered by a purling
tree-lined stream offers guests calm, relaxation and tranquillity, after
a day of sightseeing in this beautiful and historic region.
In 2008 la Petite Ecurie, the
old stable for the farm work-horses, was transformed into a comfortable,
cosy, light and airy gite, ideal for two people, with its own small enclosed
private courtyard.
